Roy Lichtenstein
Roy Lichtenstein (American, 1923-1997) is one of the most important artists of the last half of the twentieth century. First an abstract expressionist, he emerged in the 1960s as a leader in the pop art movement. He was the first artist to seriously use the style and construction of the comic strip in his paintings, sculptures and prints.
Lichtenstein's Brushstroke Chair, Wood and Brushstroke Ottoman, Wood are exquisite renderings of the artist's signature brushstroke imagery in white birch veneer and paint.
